She was also a patron of arts and culture, and a devout Muslim. Here is a possible paragraph that describes her life in a funny way:
Kosem The Sultan was the ultimate boss lady of the 17th century. She had more power than most men in the world, and she knew how to use it. She was like a chess master, moving her pieces across the board with skill and strategy. Could make or break anyone with a snap of her fingers. She had a lot of fingers, because she wore a lot of rings. Loved jewelry, especially pearls and diamonds. She also loved poetry, music and architecture. She built mosques, palaces and fountains all over the empire. Was generous to the poor and loyal to her friends. But she was also ruthless to her enemies and rebellious to her family. Kosem & The Sultan English My story Kosem The Sultan
She was Kosem The Sultan, and she ruled the Ottoman Empire with an iron fist and a velvet glove.
My story Kosem The Sultan. I have always been fascinated by the life and times of Kosem The Sultan, the powerful woman who ruled the Ottoman Empire for nearly four decades. She was born in Greece as Anastasia, but was captured and brought to the harem of Sultan Ahmed I when she was only 15 years old. There, she quickly rose to become his favorite consort and gave birth to six of his sons and a daughter. She also gained the trust and respect of the courtiers and the people with her intelligence, generosity and diplomacy.
After Ahmed’s death, she became the regent for her young son Murad IV, who was only 11 years old. She faced many challenges and enemies, both inside and outside the palace, but she managed to overcome them with her courage, cunning and charisma. Also supported the arts and sciences, and built many mosques, schools and hospitals. She was loved by the common folk, who called her Valide Sultan (Mother Sultan). She continued to wield influence even after Murad came of age and took over the reins of power. Also acted as the regent for her grandson Mehmed IV, who was only seven years old when he ascended the throne. She was the de facto ruler of the empire until her death in 1651, at the age of 69. She was buried in a magnificent mausoleum next to her husband Ahmed.
